Kurt J Brennan, DVM

Veterinarian, Owner

Dr. Kurt Brennan grew up in Indianola and became interested in veterinary medicine through his father and brother who are veterinarians. He received his degree in biology from Luther College before attending and graduating with his degree in veterinary medicine from the Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. Dr Brennan and his wife Kelly have five boys and a black labrador mix named Riley. Kurt enjoys various athletics.

Joel Loomis, DVM

Veterinarian, Owner

Dr. Joel Loomis grew up on a farm near Winterset, Iowa. In 2004, he graduated from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He is married to a lovely lady named Beth and has a son named Micah and two beautiful daughters named Lucille and Joanna. Joel enjoys athletics, hunting, fishing, and working outdoors.

Michael Foley, DVM

Veterinarian, Owner

Dr. Michael Foley is originally from Cedar Rapids, IA. He studied Philosophy and Pre-Law at the University of Northern Iowa until 2007 and received his Bachelor of Liberal Science Degree from Iowa State University in 2012. Michael then graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. He spends his spare time outdoors fishing, camping or backpacking and relaxing at home. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Megan Cadman, DVM

Veterinarian, Associate

Dr. Megan Cadman is originally from Johnston, IA and graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. She had been practicing at a veterinary clinic in Johnston before coming to Grinnell Veterinary Clinic. Her areas of clinical interest are surgery and preventative medicine. Megan and her husband have three dogs: Ace, Dex and Ivy. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Marcia

Office Manager

Marcia is from Graettinger, IA, a small town in northwest Iowa. She attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, IA where she received her AS Degree in Accounting. She has called Grinnell home since 1991. She is married to husband Brian Hoffmann and between the two of them they have 1 daughter and 3 sons, and three grandkids. They enjoy spending time with family, camping, traveling, cookouts with friends and being outdoors.

Jessica

Lead Veterinary Assistant

Jessica is from southern Missouri, received her A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology in 2014, moved to Grinnell in 2016, and married Benjamin in 2017. Jessica is also an equine barefoot hoof specialist, and a dog/human trainer because she loves to see happy and healthy dog/human relationships. She has two adventuresome kitties (Cricket & Paste), one horse (Stormy - Arabian), and Susie and Lindy (field bred yellow labs). Jessica and Benjamin raise small groups of pigs and grass fed/finished beef for the community. They love good food, growing plants and animals, traveling, and all the outdoor things.

Cheyenne

Assistant Lead Veterinary Assistant & Social Media Coordinator

Cheyenne grew up on a farm outside of Sully. She graduated high school in 2017. Currently she lives in Grinnell with her husband. She has two horses named Cookie & Dove. She also has a Golden Retriever named Mae and two cats named Gomer and Goober. Cheyenne enjoys working with horses, spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys taking her dog on hikes and trails in the summer.

Michelle

Veterinary Assistant & Kennel Manager

Michelle grew up outside of Chelsea and graduated from South Tama. She attended Kirkwood Community College and received her Associate of Applied Science degree in Humane Officer Training and Veterinary Assisting. She grew up involved in 4H, FFA, and played trombone in band. In her free time she enjoys reading, crafting. kayaking, and sewing. She loves spending time with her nephews, family and friends. Michelle currently has 3 dogs at home (Zuma, Willow, and Buddy) as well as 2 cats (Lilly and Sissy).

Leah

Assistant Lead Veterinary Assistant

Leah has lived in Newton, IA for her whole life. She graduated from Newton high school in 2017 and then graduated from Buena Vista University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Human Services in 2021. She is currently attending Penn Foster to get her degree in Veterinary Technology. She currently resides in Newton with her husband and children. She has three cats (Mia, Bubastis & Clover) and one dog (George). She has a strong love for cats and really enjoys baking and spending time with her family.

Sterling, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Sterling grew up outside of Brooklyn and currently resides in Malcom with her husband, Cody. She graduated Des Moines Area Community College in spring of 2022 with AAS Degree in Veterinary Technology and after receiving this degree, she passed her National and State Veterinary Boards in the fall of the same year. She has also had the privilege of taking classes to receive her Entrepreneurship Certification. She grew up being heavily involved in 4H and FFA, where she showed many species, mainly cattle. In her free time she likes spending time cheering on her brother in his hobbies, being with family and friends, and snuggling with her three dogs (Maizey, Millie, and Mable) and two cats (Trixie and Kitty).

Paige

Veterinary Assistant

Paige grew up outside of Lynnville. She graduated high school in 2024. She currently lives in Newton with her fiancé Mitchell and has two boxers named Ruby and Nala. In her free time she enjoys hunting, playing volleyball, watching a movie with some delicious popcorn, going on family trips to Decorah to go trout fishing and also loves outdoor activities.

Cami, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Cami grew up on the family farm in central Kansas, she received her A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology in December of 2022 then passed her National and State Veterinary Boards in the spring and earned her RVT license. She married Nathan in 2024 and then moved to Brooklyn. She has one rambunctious kitty named Max and a super sweet yellow lab named Honey. Cami enjoys going for walks/hikes with her dog and husband, drawing, painting, watching a good show and doing outdoor activities.

Quincy

Veterinary Assistant

Quincy grew up in Montezuma. She graduated high school in 2018 and attended Kirkwood Community College where she received an associates degree. She is currently attending Penn Foster to receive her degree in Veterinary Technology. She currently lives in Parnell and is obsessed with her animals and wants to own every single type of animal in her lifetime. She has 1 horse (Dory), 2 longhair miniature dachshunds (Peanut and Tator), and a cat (Merle Haggard). Quincy enjoys being with her friends and family, barrel racing/riding her horse, and going on road trips with her dachshunds.

Chelsey

Veterinary Assistant

Chelsey has lived in Newton, IA her whole life. Chelsey graduated from Newton High School in 2009. She currently resides in Newton with her 2 daughters Phoenix & Harper. I have one cat (Simon Sue) and one horse (Ginger, Quarter horse). In her free time she likes to spend time with family and friends, watching her daughter's sporting events, being outdoors, horseback riding, cycling, camping, swimming and watching college sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Gavin

Veterinary Assistant

Gavin grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Rosemount high school in 2021. He moved to Lynnville to be closer to family and now shares his home with his cousin Briley, a former GVC receptionist. When he's not helping animals, Gavin enjoys spending time at the family cabin, fishing, and catching up on his favorite Netflix shows.

Jillian

Lead Receptionist

Jillian came to Iowa from the twin cities. She started her love of animals professionally as a groomer and soon went into the veterinary hospital field as a receptionist, assistant and practice manager. She has a son named Gavin who is a recent high school graduate. In her free time she likes to spend time with family and friends as well as serve on an animal rescue board. She has a love of dogs, cats and elephants. She shares her home with 5 miniature dachshunds.

Skyler

Receptionist & Inventory Manager

Skyler grew up in Grinnell, IA and graduated from BCLUW High School in 2014. She attended Marshalltown Community College and received her Associate of Arts degree and Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice. Skyler and her family have two dogs, Radar, a Boxer Mix, and Kane, a Blue Heeler. Skyler has had many pets over the years including lizards, turtles, guinea pigs, hamsters, cats and dogs. In her free time she enjoys attending Super cross races, going to book club and spending time with her friends and family.

Jena

Receptionist

Jena grew up in Ankeny and graduated from Ankeny High School in 2018. In 2021, she and her husband moved to Newton, where they now live with their daughter and two dogs. Dani is a German Shepherd mix, and Bentley is a Brittan Spaniel. Jena is also hoping to add a few goats to the family someday. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and doing embroidery.
